When you try to download a YouTube video and the link doesn’t work, it can be really frustrating. Especially if the downloader shows no signs of an error. It may say it is processing your link, but gives you no other information.

An unworkable link doesn’t always mean that your computer, phone, or internet is having problems.

There can be many reasons why a link doesn’t work. Perhaps the person who posted the video changed the settings to make it so only certain people can view it. There can also be minor, temporary issues while a video is processing.

The video link that you see and copy can look different than the link someone else sees and copies. YTT Save can work with many different types of YouTube links, but if you’re having problems with other links, here are some things you can check.

1. Check That You Copied the Entire Video Link

The first thing you should check is the link that you copied.

Sometimes, a minor part of the link can get cut when the link is copied and pasted.

If this happens, the link may not direct YTT Save to the correct video.

To make sure you have the entire correct link, you can go back to the video, and copy the link from the Share option.

Always open the original video in a new tab to check if it’s accessible. If it is, then the copied URL is not the issue.

7. Check for Accidental Spaces

This step is more for your own benefit to check your own work.

While copying a URL from a message or other document, you might copy a space, like this, “YouTube Video:”. The downloader expects the URL and not the text describing the URL.

To make sure the downloader gets the correct URL, delete any spaces or text before pasting the URL.

8. Different Structures of YouTube Links

Different parts of the YouTube site use different structures for URLs.

For example, a URL for a standard video is different from a URL for a Short or a URL for a playlist.

In addition, a single video can be identified by multiple URLs containing different parameters.

A video downloader should be able to identify the different types of links and extract the video identifier from the different types of links.

10. Video Processing Can Take Time

Sometimes, you need to wait for the video processing to complete.

When the Download button is clicked, the system will read the provided link and get information about the different available videos and finally display the results to the user. This process may take some time based on different factors such as the server the video is on, your internet connection and other factors. Repeatedly clicking the button will not help the process along and may just waste your time. The system will take some time to process a given request before it will take a new request.

11. Refresh the Page and Paste the Link.

Sometimes, the most simple methods work. Check to be sure the video is publicly available and the link is correct, then paste the link into YTT Save and see if it is loaded correctly. Refreshing the page will not affect the process of the request.

If you are having issues loading other websites, YTT Save may not work either. Try loading other websites to check your internet connection and stability. Once your connection is stable, try loading YTT Save.

13. Try Using a Different and Newer Browser

Always check to see if you have the most recent and updated version of your browser. Many tools and functions of websites may not work correctly with older browsers.

Keeping your browser up to date can resolve multiple issues related to browsing experience and security.

Since YTT Save works in a browser, making sure you use the most updated versions of browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Edge, etc. is recommended.

14. Why Can One Video Work While Another Doesn’t?

As mentioned above, many factors contribute to a successful video extraction. One of the key reasons can be the format of a video. If a video is protected by digital rights management (DRM) or some other restrictions, it may not be extractable. That said, not all protected contents will yield an extraction.

It’s also possible that a YouTube video has different formats and resolutions and therefore, may provide many download options.

That said, we cannot guarantee extraction of every video, as it all boils down to the discretion of the video hosting website.

15. What If The Video Preview Is Wrong?

Always preview the video before saving it. If you don’t like what you see, go back and retrieve the correct video by pasting the URL of that video to YTT Save and repeat the process.

16. What If No Download Quality Appears?

Simply detecting a video and listing download options are two different things.

It may very well be the case that an online video is available in multiple formats and resolutions, but the website or the video hosting app doesn’t provide all of those formats and resolutions.

Don’t expect a particular option (ex: 1080p, MP4) to show up if it isn’t available. Repeatedly posting the link will not generate that option.

Only options that are available for that video will show up.

How to Quickly Check a Video Link

When a video link does not work, I suggest people do the following in order:

Check that the video is public.

Go to the video and use the share option to copy the link to get the most up to date video link.

Go to YTT Save and paste the video link.

If the link works, the video will start downloading and you can check if the options you need are available.

If you have to check the link more than once, make sure your connection is good.

Just because a video is public doesn’t mean it can be reposted, altered, or used for profit.

Use YTT Save for videos that you made or own the rights to, or for which you have the owner’s or rights’ holder’s permission to save.

Always consider the creator of the video and the rules of the platform where you found the video.
